We are closing in the dry season, where pastures lose nutritional quality, therefore, there is a need to provide our livestock with supplementary feeds to avoid sickness and weight loss due to poor diet. Lablab feed provides proteins needed by stocks to gain weight and decrease susceptibility to health risks. Lablab has 16% of protein content but on average a cow requires 3 - 5% proteins, therefore, it is recommended that it is taken in conjunction with other poor quality feeds like maize stover. Forage Sorghum is higher in vitro digestibility of dry matter and revealed good quality for ruminant nutrition.
